Exporting PDF pages as images is useful for previews, thumbnails, social posts, documentation, and systems that do not accept PDF uploads. The main choice is usually JPG or PNG, and the right answer depends on what the page contains.
Choose JPG for photo-heavy pages, presentation slides, scanned documents, and preview images where file size matters. JPG compression keeps files small, which is helpful for web pages, emails, and content management systems.
Choose PNG for pages with sharp text, interface screenshots, charts, line art, or transparent elements. PNG is often larger, but it preserves crisp edges and avoids compression artifacts around small labels.
If you are exporting a document page for reading, test both formats at the same width. JPG may blur small text at low quality, while PNG may be unnecessarily heavy for photographic pages.
