How to Organize PDF Pages Before Sending a Contract
A practical checklist for reordering, rotating, deleting, and verifying PDF pages before client or legal delivery.
Contracts often collect pages from multiple sources: cover letters, signature pages, exhibits, scanned IDs, and appendices. Organizing the PDF before sending it helps prevent confusion and reduces the risk of missing or duplicated pages.
Start with page order. Put the main agreement first, followed by signature pages, schedules, exhibits, and supporting documents. If your recipient expects a specific order, mirror their checklist exactly.
Rotate scanned pages so every page reads in the same direction. Mixed orientation is common when pages are scanned from different devices, and it can make signing or reviewing the contract frustrating.
Remove blank pages, duplicate scans, internal notes, and draft pages. Then check page numbers and references inside the contract. If an exhibit is referenced as Exhibit B, make sure it appears in the merged PDF with the same label.
Before delivery, open the final PDF in a separate viewer and scan the document from beginning to end. Confirm the file name, page count, visible signatures, and attachment size before sending.
